In the coming time, after the Water Resources Law (amended) is promulgated, the water scarcity map will be an effective supporting tool to implement the Law. Therefore, the Department of Water Resources Management will closely participate in the implementation process to get specific and clear products; as well as will invite more units to participate in the evaluation and verification of program results.

Commenting on the products of the Water Scarcity Program, Mr. Ngo Manh Ha suggested that a digital water scarcity map be formed with continuous updates to regulate and distribute water resources in the river basin; a water resource accountant can calculate the value of each cubic meter of water in the basin. In particular, it is necessary to select a basin with scarcity factors in terms of quantity and unreasonable use of water, with reservoirs in the upstream and downstream; firstly, it can be piloted in the Cai river basin (Ninh Thuan province).

Ms. Caroline Turner, FAO representative, said that the Water Scarcity Program includes many related units and ministries and sectors, so it is necessary to have a cooperation mechanism and propose a clear division of tasks to achieve it. get the best performance.
