Active green transition, emissions reduction and climate change response

Over the past time, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment has implemented many solutions to implement policies and solutions for green transformation, emission reduction, and proactive response to climate change.

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment has actively advised the Government, implementing the Programs, Strategies and Action Plans on climate change (CC); advising and organizing the 8th meeting of the Viet Nam - Netherlands Intergovernmental Committee on Climate Change Adaptation and Water Management; The implementation scheme of the Political Declaration on Establishment of a Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP).

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment has also developed and completed the project of the Vietnamese delegation to attend the COP28 Conference in the United Arab Emirates (UEA); Submitting to the Prime Minister a proposal to establish the Prime Minister's Working Group to implement the Political Declaration on Establishment of a Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP)

The Minister issued the Plan to implement the Scheme on tasks and solutions to implement the results of the COP26 Conference; Action plan on methane emissions reduction by 2030.

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment is developing a National Plan on management and elimination of substances that deplete the ozone layer, substances causing greenhouse effects under control; National plan on climate change for the period of 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050 (updated).

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment is currently reviewing the implementation contents of the updated NDC, the National Strategy on Climate Change to guide the implementation for ministries, sectors and localities, and develop a phase 1 HFC elimination management plan and phase 3 HCFC elimination management plan.
